Cllr Stephanie Vale campaigning to save Droitwich's Brine Baths
Stephanie Vale's election as the second Liberal Democrat Councillor to represent Droitwich South West Ward on Wychavon District Council on October 1st was the third success for the Party in the last three by-elections in South Worcestershire.
Stephanie gained 521 votes to Droitwich's Conservative Mayor Maureen Lawley's 416. Stephanie said "I would like to thank all those who voted for me on October 1st. I will do my very best for Droitwich Spa, and will continue to fight for a brine bath and not a 'brine experience'. The term brine experience is meaningless, and could mean an annual outing to Weston-super-Mare or a small hip bath in the middle of Droitwich. It will be no easy battle, but with everyone behind SOBBS (Save our Brine Baths) - which by the way is non-political - hopefully we will be successful."
On 3rd September, Liberal Democrat Dean Clarke took a seat on Malvern Hills District Council with a swing of 17% from the Conservatives. He represents Hallow Ward.
These by-elections followed Ann Gopsill's successful defence of her late husband Graham's former seat on Wychavon District Council in July. Ann was also co-opted onto Droitwich Spa Town Council.
