Lorely Burt MP, Liz Lynne MP, Ros Scott (Party President), Margaret Rowley join Wyre Forest members at WM Region Conference in Kidderminster.
Rising unemployment, and in particular the decline in manufacturing industry, was debated at the West Midlands Liberal Democrats' Conference held in Kidderminster on 27th February.
Speakers condemned the failures in financial management under both Tory and Labour Governments that have made many businesses and employees victims of capital shortages and short-termism.
In order to rebuild a diverse manufacturing sector it was proposed that Local Enterprise Funds should be created. Investment should be focused on the deployment of new, green initiatives with the alignment of the education system with the needs of business.
The proposals will go forward for debate at the Party's Regional Conference to be held in Birmingham on 12th to 14th march.
