Oliver Walker: An MP who will get things done for Droitwich and Evesham
Thank you to everyone who voted for me in this General Election, it's been a pleasure to be welcomed into your homes, your town halls, and your businesses.
Thank you for sharing your worries and your hopes for the future.
I hear you. The Liberal Democrats hear you.
And we will never stop fighting for you.
We will never stop fighting for our local economy, our local environment and our local health services.
And we will never stop fighting for the fair deal you deserve.
Thank you.
I've lived in Worcestershire my entire life, and we are fortunate to call this beautiful region our home. However, the Conservatives have taken us for granted, leading to significant issues that can no longer be ignored. NHS services are being cut, sewage is polluting our rivers, and more children are living in poverty. While working families and pensioners are increasingly relying on local food banks.
I am deeply concerned about the state of our county and the direction that we're still heading in. It has been refreshing to speak to so many of you who feel the same and are looking for a change, that’s why I am standing to be your Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Droitwich and Evesham.
To tackle the cost of living and grow our economy, we will:
- Recruit more HMRC officers to collect the £36 billion in uncollected taxes.
- Reverse the Conservative tax cuts for big banks,
- Invest in infrastructure, skills, and jobs.
To improve our health services, we will:
- Recruit 8,000 more GPs.
- Reform NHS Dentist Contracts.
- Prioritize mental health equally with physical health.
- Invest in public health prevention to reduce illness and the need for treatment.
To combat climate change, we will:
- Stop sewage discharge into our rivers.
- Invest in renewable energy sources.
- Insulate our homes to improve energy efficiency.
I am committed to fighting for our local communities, towns, and villages. Together, we can create a brighter future for Worcestershire.
